Digestive symptoms
Persistent diarrhoea or concerns after antibiotics?
Discuss the possible causes with your doctor and agree the sensible next step, including testing only if it would help.
You might be noticing
- Diarrhoea lasting more than a few days
- Abdominal cramping
- Symptoms after travel, a new food, or antibiotics
How your visit works
Four clear steps.
- 1
Clinical assessment
A video consultation with your dedicated doctor, who reviews your history and current symptoms.
- 2
Testing only if indicated
A test is arranged only if the result would change what your doctor recommends.
- 3
Results explained, plan agreed
Your doctor explains what any findings mean and recommends or prescribes treatment.
- 4
Coordinated follow-up
With your consent, a visit summary is shared with your local doctor.
About testing
What each test actually does.
Many cases settle without testing. Your doctor will say if a test is worthwhile.
- Stool (GI) panel
- Looks for common bacteria, viruses and parasites that cause diarrhoea.
- C. difficile testing
- Not automatically included in a standard GI panel. Your doctor orders it separately when recent antibiotics or other history make it relevant.
Before you book
What we'll confirm with you.
- • Whether PMG can see patients in your state.
- • Your insurance or Medicare coverage, and any cost you'd be responsible for.
- • How and where any sample would be collected, if a test is needed.
Monday to Friday, 8am–8pm ET.
